When to message your host:

  • Before sending a trip request: It's a good idea to send a friendly message or get answers for your concerns.
  • If you have a question: If you're unclear about something, feel free to ask your host. But make sure the answer isn't already in the listing description.

 

When you can expect to hear from them:

Hosts have up to 24 hours to accept or decline your booking request, but most respond much faster, often within 12 hours. Many hosts reply within an hour of reading your request.

You can check the status of your request at any time, and you'll also get email updates when there are changes.

What happens after a host responds:

If the host confirms your request, Hekaya will process your payment in full.

If they decline or let the request expire, you won't be charged, and you're free to look for another experience.

If you haven't heard back:

Most hosts reply within a few hours, but factors like time zones or limited internet access can slow things down. While waiting, consider reaching out to other hosts in the area. Just be careful not to send multiple booking requests for the same dates to avoid double booking.

Instant book option:

If you don't want to wait for host approval, you can try instant book listings. These allow you to book immediately without sending a request for the host's approval, as long as you've completed your account setup. This way, you can secure your experience more quickly and easily.
