Oman is the address of beauty, a country of ancient history, deeply rooted within its culture and heritage. Sultanate of Oman is known for its strategic and historical location and authentic beauty in a semi-desert area. It is in west Asia, in the far south-east of the Arabian Peninsula between latitudes 40 "16" 20" "26 N and longitudes 50" 51" 40" "59 E. Its coastline stretches from Strait of Hormuz in the north until the borders of Yemen, overlooking 3 seas: The Arabian Gulf, Sea of Oman, and The Arabian Sea. It shares land borders with the UAE and Saudi Arabia from the west, Yemen from the south, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Islamic Republic of Iran from the north, and overlooks the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean from the east

Oman covers a total area of 309,500 km2 and is a country with a low population estimated at 4.5 million, which means 15 individuals per km2, making it one of the lowest population countries in the world. The country is regarded with a high economical income, and enjoys a vital economy and investment environment, as it is the heart of trade that links the east with the west- therefore Europe, and Asia.

The Sultanate enjoys significant tourism potential, as it has an abundance of diverse attractions, making it an ideal destination for tourists to experience different types of tourism activities. It offers amazing natural landscapes rolling up from the high mountains stretching from the west to the east, down to its low plains, beautiful Wadis and flora and fauna, all the way to its sandy coastlines and golden deserts.

When it comes to geological tourism, Oman is the Mecca of geologists and those interested in this area of study, as its geological wonders are a major attraction. The Sultanate is home to springs, caves, valleys, waterfalls, wild animals and bird reserves, ancient trees, and an oasis.

This diverse nature of the Sultanate has always been a source of inspiration for its citizens and travellers who pass by. Thousands of years ago until today, Omanis used their country’s natural elements in building their houses, forts, castles, and Falajes.
