If you're considering leaving hekaya, you have a couple of options available. You can temporarily deactivate your account, allowing you to reactivate it later, or you can choose to permanently delete it.

When you deactivate your account on hekaya

Here's what happens when you deactivate your account:

• Your profile will be hidden.
• If you're a host, your listings will also be hidden.
• Some information, such as your reviews, may still be visible to others.
• Hekaya will retain your account data so you can reactivate it in the future. To do so, simply contact us.
• Additionally, if you're a host, you can deactivate a specific listing without deactivating your entire account.

Deactivate your account

• Go to Account > Login & security
• Under Account, click Deactivate
• Choose a reason why you deactivated your account
• Click Continue
• Click Deactivate account  
   

When you choose to permanently close and delete your hekaya account:

Identity verification: For security reasons, hekaya will verify your identity before accepting the request for deletion.

Data deletion: After your request is processed, your personal information will be permanently deleted. However, certain information may be retained as required or permitted by law, as outlined in hekaya’s privacy policy.

Irreversible action: Once your account is deleted, it cannot be reactivated, and you won't be able to recover any data or regain access. If you wish to use hekaya again, you'll need to create a new account.

This process ensures that your personal data is handled securely and in accordance with applicable privacy regulations.
